How every guide is made

  • Start with the reader’s questionEach guide begins with what a landlord or renter needs to do, decide, or understand.
  • Research primary sourcesState statutes and government pages come first, linked right beside the claim they support.
  • Check and edit before publishingI review every guide against its sources and my own experience before it goes live.
  • Keep it currentThe updated date only changes when the content does. Deposit and notice rules vary by state, and no guide is legal advice.
